Marco van Basten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sporting Clube d Portugal's Romulo Frederik proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Clube d Portugal from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Marco van Basten managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting Clube d Portugal's supporters rose to their feet, but Marco van Basten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dorian Machado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Breno Pereira hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Locomotiva grena defense, Osmar Rosario kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dorian Machado. The Locomotiva grena fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dorian Machado should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Locomotiva grena's zone, Leon Norino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dorian Machado came out of the goal and Leon Norino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christian Faria in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Romulo Frederik, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Christian Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th minute Marco van Basten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dorian Machado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sporting Clube d Portugal's Romulo Frederik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Precioso Barcaiztegui in the 37th minute of play. 40 minutes into the game, Sporting Clube d Portugal's Artur Alves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dorian Machado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Precioso Barcaiztegui recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 1-2 became the score in the 47th minute when Christian Faria elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

54 minutes into the match, Precioso Barcaiztegui had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Romulo Frederik. Sporting Clube d Portugal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Precioso Barcaiztegui was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. A collision led to Locomotiva grena getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Precioso Barcaiztegui hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the match, Artur Alves dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dorian Machado, 2-3. Romulo Frederik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dito Mineiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. A collision led to Sporting Clube d Portugal getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Virgílio Peres hit a great ball. In the 67th minute Christian Faria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romulo Frederik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute, Artur Alves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Locomotiva grena's Tomas Lewandowski was substituted for Precioso Barcaiztegui. After a rather tough play, Sporting Clube d Portugal's Lennart Rosin got a free kick in the 71st minute. Nilson Brasils short, quick shot in the 73rdth minute got Dorian Machado to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Osmar Rosario kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Christian Faria got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomas Lewandowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romulo Frederik having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Artur Alves kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dorian Machado. That made the score 2-4 in the 82 minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Locomotiva grena's goalkeeper Dorian Machado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marco van Basten. In the 87th minute Flavinho Mello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romulo Frederik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 95 minutes of play, Locomotiva grena's Tomas Lewandowski made it 3-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Romulo Frederik was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sporting Clube d Portugal were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Locomotiva grena's much stronger midfield.
