The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Richard Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belmiro Lima in the 6th minute of play. 9 minutes into the game, Internacional de Almagro's Rubinho Abreu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Richard Fontes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. A collision led to Sumaré Sport Club getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Oswaldo Furlan hit a great ball. Zé Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the game, Thiago Vasconcelos threw the ball into play from the sideline. Sumaré Sport Club's Luís Fabiano de Sena quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After a rather tough play, Internacional de Almagro's Ian Moura got a free kick in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfred Chmelyk in the 28th minute of play forced Internacional de Almagro's goalkeeper Lucas Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Zé Trigo could shoot a difficult shot in the 29th minute, which Lucas Torres however easily saved by the left post. 33 minutes into the match, Sumaré Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when Rubinho Abreu came free, but Richard Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucas Torres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred Chmelyk, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Zé Trigo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lucas Torres came out and tried to block the shot, but Zé Trigo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 36th minute. The supporters of Sumaré Sport Club booed when Internacional de Almagro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute of the match, Zé Trigo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Lucas Torres was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Internacional de Almagro's goalkeeper Lucas Torres, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Internacional de Almagro's Lucas Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Trigo in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Belmiro Lima was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute of the match Sumaré Sport Club got a corner. Internacional de Almagro's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jessica Xerifão ran over to the corner to take the kick. Richard Fontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belmiro Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Zé Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Lucas Torres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ian Moura's late challenge caught a Sumaré Sport Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ian Moura helped the player get up and apologised. Ian Moura hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. 84 minutes into the match, Sumaré Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when Belmiro Lima came free, but Richard Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute, Lauro Gaspar reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Richard Fontes. The goal made the score 2-2. Internacional de Almagro's Lucas Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Trigo in the 92nd minute of play. In the 95th minute, Alfred Chmelyk ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lucas Torres was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2.
