Arlindo Guedes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kjell Vassenius in the 3rd minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, AF CERRADO's goal looked a bit too open when Kjell Vassenius came free, but Arlindo Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. André Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Paulista in the 14th minute of the match. Arlindo Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute RIO CLUBE REGATAS were awarded a corner. Tony Neiva went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led RIO CLUBE REGATAS's Reinaldo Linhares to fire away a dangerous shot which Arlindo Guedes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 22 played minutes RIO CLUBE REGATAS got a freekick which was hit by Leif Ferm. In the 23rd minute, AF CERRADO's Antônio Carlos Bueno ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind André Magalhães. André Magalhães yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. RIO CLUBE REGATAS's André Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Carlos Bueno in the 30th minute of play. RIO CLUBE REGATAS were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after AF CERRADO's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tony Neiva took the corner. RIO CLUBE REGATAS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tony Neiva in the 39th minute. Tony Neiva made a great header on RIO CLUBE REGATAS's corner, it was just that AF CERRADO's Arlindo Guedes managed to reach the ball for a save. Tony Neiva's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Arlindo Guedes - 1-1 was put on the score board in the 39th minute. After some careless play in the RIO CLUBE REGATAS defense, Antônio Carlos Bueno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of André Magalhães. The RIO CLUBE REGATAS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that André Magalhães should have stopped the shot. AF CERRADO's Murilo Lucas got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Giuseppe de Mendonça to strike the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, RIO CLUBE REGATAS's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio Carlos Bueno came free, but André Magalhães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. André Magalhães stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antônio Carlos Bueno's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. When AF CERRADO's Antônio Carlos Bueno in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye RIO CLUBE REGATAS's goalie prevented a goal. RIO CLUBE REGATAS's André Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Carlos Bueno in the 64th minute of play. In the 65thth minute of the game Marcos Paulista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but RIO CLUBE REGATAS's André Magalhães was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Antônio Carlos Bueno blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without André Magalhães having to make a save. André Magalhães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Carlos Bueno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. André Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Paulista in the 74th minute of play. André Magalhães stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcos Paulista's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. AF CERRADO made a substitution. Felix Smits replaced Carlos Alberto Jacinto. When AF CERRADO's Antônio Carlos Bueno in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye RIO CLUBE REGATAS's goalie prevented a goal. 81 minutes had been played when some careless play by RIO CLUBE REGATAS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jaime Pombal was slow to take the kick. During this time AF CERRADO's players had a chance to rest. In the 87th minute of the match, Giuseppe de Mendonça tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arlindo Guedes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After having played for 88 minutes, Thiago Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AF CERRADO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thiago Damião was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. André Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murilo Lucas in the 94th minute of play. Arlindo Guedes made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Giuseppe de Mendonça sent off a good shot on target. In the 95th minute, Murilo Lucas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the RIO CLUBE REGATAS players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for AF CERRADO.
