Toninho Cardozo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Durvalino Guerra in the 10th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Vila Aurora FC defense, Erik Kulaš kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Chicão Leal. The Vila Aurora FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chicão Leal should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as CRICIÚMA E.C.'s Kazimierz Madej slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Chicão Leal. That made the score 2-0 after 20 minutes of play. Toninho Cardozo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvinho de Senna in the 23rd minute of play. Naldo Antunes hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Toninho Cardozo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Orzaize in the 41st minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jaime Cordeiro during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jaime Cordeiro hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 43rd minute of the match Breno Borges shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Toninho Cardozo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

CRICIÚMA E.C.'s Diguinho do Nascimento was substituted for Kauan Prestes. Vila Aurora FC's Chicão Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Cordeiro in the 54th minute of play. Toninho Cardozo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Orzaize in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd match minute, Vila Aurora FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesar Filipo to maneuver through the defense. Chicão Leal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xandão Crouch, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. A collision led to CRICIÚMA E.C. getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Jaime Cordeiro hit a great ball. Cafu Maranhense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xandão Crouch in the 76th minute of play forced Vila Aurora FC's goalkeeper Chicão Leal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, CRICIÚMA E.C.'s Enéas da Cunha got a free kick in the 77th minute. Vila Aurora FC's Breno Borges got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Toninho Cardozo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Orzaize in the 80th minute of the match. Toninho Cardozo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Naldo Antunes in the 84th minute of play. Kazimierz Madej blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Chicão Leal having to make a save.
