Gerd Pollmann didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rômulo de Castro went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 14 minutes into the match, Militros F.C.'s Paulão Freire sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ademar Duarte narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, CRICIUMA TIGRAO FSCMZ's Dedé Almeida got a free kick in the 14th minute. Ademar Duarte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulão Freire in the 16th minute of play. In the 19th match minute, CRICIUMA TIGRAO FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franco Daniel to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in CRICIUMA TIGRAO FSCMZ's zone, Ronaldão Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ademar Duarte came out of the goal and Ronaldão Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

CRICIUMA TIGRAO FSCMZ's Well-Well Gatovskiy was substituted for Kléberson Pitta. Militros F.C.'s Sandrinho Cunha was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ademar Duarte in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. CRICIUMA TIGRAO FSCMZ made a substitution. Gustavo Henrique replaced Allan Zonta. Rômulo de Castro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gerd Pollmann firmly grabbed it by the left post. Cosimo Tagliente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rômulo de Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. CRICIUMA TIGRAO FSCMZ's Rômulo de Castro got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Militros F.C.'s Gerd Pollmann got control of the ball when Rômulo de Castro tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Militros F.C.'s zone, Matías Oyola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerd Pollmann came out of the goal and Matías Oyola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Sandrinho Cunha fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Militros F.C.'s protests and gave Sandrinho Cunha a yellow card for diving instead. Sandrinho Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Rômulo de Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 90 minutes, Cosimo Tagliente mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Militros F.C. and the CRICIUMA TIGRAO FSCMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sandrinho Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The CRICIUMA TIGRAO FSCMZ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CRICIUMA TIGRAO FSCMZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
