If Emerson Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vicente Dantas made in the 10th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Gino de Brito immediately put the ball in play. Herminio Izel who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 13thth minute tested the skills of Olivier Dubs when he managed to save the team from getting behind. SPFC's Dida Mazzola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jiang Liang Wei in the 15th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Herminio Izel put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Olivier Dubs. In the 23rd minute, SPFC's Luisinho Mangueira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Herminio Izel got free with Olivier Dubs in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dida Mazzola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toninho Cosme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind BEST FABIO F.C.'s goalkeeper Olivier Dubs, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Olivier Dubs made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Luisinho Mangueira sent off a good shot on target. SPFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Agnaldo Santos in the 35th minute. The corner led SPFC's Agnaldo Santos to fire away a dangerous shot which Olivier Dubs despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Xande in the 41st minute of play forced SPFC's goalkeeper Dida Mazzola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexandre Xande got free with Dida Mazzola in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Atilla Kağan Ergüvenç's late challenge caught a SPFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Atilla Kağan Ergüvenç helped the player get up and apologised. Ernesto Prosperi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Olivier Dubs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 62 minutes, Emerson Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SPFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emerson Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dida Mazzola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandre Xande, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 70th minute, Herminio Izel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The throw-in from Igor Gulak in the 79th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by SPFC's Rodriguinho Alvarenga. Olivier Dubs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agnaldo Santos in the 81st minute of play. Dida Mazzola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jiang Liang Wei, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Oséias Azevedo in the 94th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by SPFC's Chicão Motta. The supporters of SPFC booed when BEST FABIO F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Atilla Kağan Ergüvenç didn't get a good kick on the ball. Agnaldo Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. SPFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
