Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Yan Vieira started the match with the kick off. Diguinho Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dagoberto Linhares in the 2nd minute of the match. Diguinho Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Malcolm Carlsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 7th minute, Zigmas Duseika hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cacá Braga in the 8th minute of play forced Dínamo São Paulo's goalkeeper Diguinho Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute RED-STAR were awarded a corner. Cacá Braga went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on RED-STAR's corner Cipriano do Vale fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Diguinho Toledo quite easily take care of the ball. In the 13th minute, André Siqueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Alberto Duarte came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Dínamo São Paulo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Duarte couldn't finish the play. RED-STAR's Iwan Wojtyna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Paulo Vasconcelos in the 19th minute of play. Andreas Ivarsson hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 25th match minute, RED-STAR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Arce to maneuver through the defense. Iwan Wojtyna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldinho Gaúcho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cacá Braga might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diguinho Toledo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cacá Braga ran back to his position shaking his head. 38 minutes into the game, André Luís dos Santos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RED-STAR's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dínamo São Paulo the free kick. After a rather tough play, RED-STAR's André Luís dos Santos got a free kick in the 38th minute. Iwan Wojtyna made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Yan Vieira sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Dínamo São Paulo booed when RED-STAR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Luís dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Ronaldinho Gaúcho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dínamo São Paulo's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldinho Gaúcho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iwan Wojtyna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half RED-STAR were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dagoberto Linhares was the one to do the kick off. After 55 played minutes RED-STAR got a freekick which was hit by Cacá Braga. When Dínamo São Paulo's Yan Vieira in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye RED-STAR's goalie prevented a goal. In the 60th minute, Luiz Paulo Vasconcelos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 62nd minute Luiz Paulo Vasconcelos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iwan Wojtyna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dagoberto Linhares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Diguinho Toledo made a huge save. 64 minutes into the match, Dínamo São Paulo's goalkeeper Diguinho Toledo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Malcolm Carlsson. Jairo Faria hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Cipriano do Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diguinho Toledo having to interfere. Diguinho Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Firme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Dínamo São Paulo booed when RED-STAR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute Cipriano do Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diguinho Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diguinho Toledo came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by RED-STAR's Dagoberto Linhares. But to his dismay, Dagoberto Linhares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After 83 played minutes RED-STAR got a freekick which was hit by Malcolm Carlsson. Ronaldinho Gaúcho made a great header on Dínamo São Paulo's corner, it was just that RED-STAR's Iwan Wojtyna managed to reach the ball for a save. André Luís dos Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Iwan Wojtyna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yan Vieira in the 94th minute of play. When the final whistle went the supporters of RED-STAR were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Dínamo São Paulo side.
