The crowd rose to their feet as Werneck FC - DMZ's Emilio Machado slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rodolfo Salgado. That made the score 1-0 after 23 minutes of play. Chupan Doar made in the 28th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Ernani Souto. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emilio Machado in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodolfo Salgado saved TAQUARI FC from getting behind. Şahap Hicab kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. It was beautiful to see TAQUARI FC's Bernard Letourneau in action when he in the 44th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emilio Machado to make the kick off.
