The supporters of Racing de Olavarría booed when Rodeo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Abechuco didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Severino Amato came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Racing de Olavarría fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severino Amato couldn't finish the play. Severino Amato might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armando Urritz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Severino Amato ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Rodeo getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Tomás Jenaro hit a great ball. When Laureano Silvino came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Racing de Olavarría fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laureano Silvino couldn't finish the play. In the 13th minute Abelardo Katia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ladislao Cuartio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Racing de Olavarría were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after Rodeo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cristo Lapurdi took the corner. Armando Urritz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severino Amato, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 23 minutes into the match, Rodeo's goal looked a bit too open when Laureano Silvino came free, but Armando Urritz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alvaro Cloyo's late challenge caught a Racing de Olavarría's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alvaro Cloyo helped the player get up and apologised. After 28 played minutes Rodeo got a freekick which was hit by Alvaro Cloyo. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Severino Amato made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abelardo Katia in the 51st minute of play forced Racing de Olavarría's goalkeeper Ladislao Cuartio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Racing de Olavarría's zone, Abelardo Katia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ladislao Cuartio came out of the goal and Abelardo Katia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 56th minute of the match Hector Henry shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ladislao Cuartio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abelardo Katia in the 61st minute of play forced Racing de Olavarría's goalkeeper Ladislao Cuartio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alvaro Cloyo hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Racing de Olavarría's Ladislao Cuartio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Abechuco in the 69th minute of play. In the 75thth minute of the game Severino Amato who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rodeo's Armando Urritz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Racing de Olavarría's Ladislao Cuartio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Michael in the 84th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Cristian Michael ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ladislao Cuartio was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 94th minute Cristian Michael shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ladislao Cuartio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ladislao Cuartio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Michael in the 96th minute of play. Many of Racing de Olavarría's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Racing de Olavarría may have spent more time on the ball, but Rodeo were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
