The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Isaac Cuartio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauricio Nerio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 21 played minutes, EL LEON FC's Nicolas Isias shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Isaac Cuartio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in EL LEON FC reached it. With 22 minutes on the clock, Serafin Natal commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 22nd minute of the game. One of Hornillos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of EL LEON FC:s goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo Duarte in the 29th minute of play forced EL LEON FC's goalkeeper Malcolm Holt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the game, Rogelio Federigo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Isaac Cuartio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Rogelio Federigo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Isaac Cuartio was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. The wind increased when Rogelio Federigo made the kick off in the second half. Guillermo Gai hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Hornillos's Isaac Cuartio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Hornillos from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Hornillos getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Arturo Duarte hit a great ball. When EL LEON FC's Rogelio Federigo in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 72 played minutes EL LEON FC got a freekick which was hit by Teodosio Eusko. In the 75th minute, Lázaro Maties hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. EL LEON FC's Malcolm Holt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Laffitte in the 76th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Rogelio Federigo managed to get in a good position for a shot. EL LEON FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rogelio Federigo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isaac Cuartio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Mauricio Nerio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Rogelio Federigo in the 85th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Isaac Cuartio kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 0-6 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Arturo Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. EL LEON FC's Rogelio Federigo got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded EL LEON FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Hornillos.
