Elias Cordeara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8th minute Arnoldo Lucila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidney Salois saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sidney Salois made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Tipi in the 9th minute of play. When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Alexis Guerrero sped through Classon 's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Elias Cordeara. The supporters of Atletico Tucuman booed when Classon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Loco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute, Joaquin Jakue got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Jeronimo Raymon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 25th minute, Classon 's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Edelmiro Amaya fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Bernabe Kelemen kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Atletico Tucuman's Epifanio Gorka got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Elias Cordeara had great luck who in the 36thth minute grab hold of the ball when Joaquin Jakue from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Edelmiro Amaya's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elias Cordeara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Edelmiro Amaya could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Elias Cordeara made a huge save. Atletico Tucuman's Sidney Salois played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Basajaun in the 45th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Javier Tipi was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Atletico Tucuman's goalkeeper Sidney Salois had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Basajaun. In the 81st match minute, Classon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ubaldo Bermund to maneuver through the defense. Classon 's Elias Cordeara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paublo Arrillaga in the 83rd minute of play. Elias Cordeara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavio Cedro in the 84th minute of the match. Joaquin Jakue recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Paublo Arrillaga fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atletico Tucuman's protests and gave Paublo Arrillaga a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Atletico Tucuman getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Paublo Arrillaga hit a great ball. Atletico Tucuman walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
