Mikko Hakaniemi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Club Atlético Alberdi's Fernan Abreu threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gaudencio Eron, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Fernan Abreu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ricardo Gai in the 11th minute. 14 minutes into the game, Gaudencio Eron recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fernan Abreu. Gaudencio Eron showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 18th minute, Salvador Peruxu made a precise shot to the right of Róbson Quintal. Club Atlético Alberdi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 22 minutes into the match, Gaudencio Eron dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fernan Abreu, 2-1. Róbson Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angel Gasteiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Ricardo Gai scored 4-1 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernan Abreu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice moves Ricardo Gai could shoot a difficult shot in the 36th minute, which Fernan Abreu however easily saved by the left post. Ricardo Gai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Fernan Abreu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Angel Gasteiz took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Róbson Quintal. Róbson Quintal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-2. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Angel Gasteiz to strike the kick off in the second half. Fernan Abreu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-3. When the referee ended the match the Club Atlético Alberdi players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
