The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Igor Ferran during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 18th match minute, Capdevila was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Ferran to maneuver through the defense. Capdevila's Alfonso Corderun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaias Farias in the 19th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Igor Ferran fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The supporters of Viña booed when Capdevila was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carolo Koldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfonso Corderun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Tejo, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Urbano Pancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Alfonso Corderun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th minute Isaias Farias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfonso Corderun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute Igor Ferran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sancho Gabi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Capdevila's Adolfo Horado got a free kick in the 40th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Isaias Farias cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Alfonso Corderun was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Igor Ferran to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Capdevila's zone, Urbano Pancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfonso Corderun came out of the goal and Urbano Pancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfonso Corderun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urbano Pancho in the 61st minute of the match. Isaias Farias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Corderun having to interfere. After 64 played minutes Capdevila got a freekick which was hit by Carolo Koldo. In the 68th minute, Adolfo Horado made a precise shot to the right of Sancho Gabi. Viña's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Viña's Urbano Pancho got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Isaias Farias came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Viña fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isaias Farias couldn't finish the play. Isaias Farias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Alfonso Corderun made a huge save. Sancho Gabi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Ferran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 88 minutes into the game, Viña's Luis Tejo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfonso Corderun made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. When the match was over Viña could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Capdevila throughout the match.
