Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Godofredo Jokin during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Lugano C.F.'s Godofredo Jokin got a free kick in the 7th minute. Carlos Pancho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramiro Medero, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Lugano C.F.'s Carlos Pancho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albano Luke in the 11th minute of play. Lugano C.F.'s Cosme Beremundo got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Magdalena AFC's zone, Cosme Beremundo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Burni came out of the goal and Cosme Beremundo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 23 played minutes Godofredo Jokin rounded Magdalena AFC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Carlos Pancho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albano Luke, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After 29 minutes, Alfonso Quinten mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Magdalena AFC and the Lugano C.F. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 29th match minute, Magdalena AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfonso Quinten to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simon Bernaldo in the 33rd minute of play forced Lugano C.F.'s goalkeeper Carlos Pancho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Burni made an important save on a dangerous shot by Godofredo Jokin in the 35th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Magdalena AFC's zone, Mauricio Sugar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Burni came out of the goal and Mauricio Sugar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th minute, Aquiles Ruisko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Magdalena AFC's goalkeeper Christian Burni, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mauricio Sugar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Mauricio Sugar came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Lugano C.F. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauricio Sugar couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alfonso Quinten to make the kick off. Christian Burni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosme Beremundo in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Cosme Beremundo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lugano C.F. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 60th minute Ramiro Medero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Pancho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Pancho came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Magdalena AFC's Ramiro Medero. But to his dismay, Ramiro Medero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After 64 played minutes Magdalena AFC got a freekick which was hit by Anier Remicio. Mauricio Sugar made a great header on Lugano C.F.'s corner, it was just that Magdalena AFC's Christian Burni managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Magdalena AFC's goalkeeper Christian Burni, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 72 minutes, Braulio Lope managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lugano C.F.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Braulio Lope was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Magdalena AFC's Christian Burni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aquiles Ruisko in the 73rd minute of play. Carlos Pancho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfonso Quinten in the 75th minute of the match. In the 85th minute Godofredo Jokin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Burni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aquiles Ruisko struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Christian Burni didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lugano C.F..
