RIOPLATENSE got a freekick which was hit by Delmar Ferrer. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emilio Cloyo in the 15th managed to get into a good position. Silvio Emesto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serafino Francesco in the 16th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, FSV Mainz 05's Serafino Francesco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Silvio Emesto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. FSV Mainz 05's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Serafino Francesco struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. RIOPLATENSE's Silvio Emesto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save ASOC. ATL. RIOPLATENSE from getting a goal against them. Aaron Eufemio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delmar Ferrer in the 92nd minute of the match. Primitivo Txeru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aaron Eufemio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Montez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over FSV Mainz 05 could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ASOC. ATL. RIOPLATENSE throughout the match.
