Abelardo Umea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celestino Guillem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abelardo Umea made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Alejo Theodore sent off a good shot on target. In the 35th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Tiniebra to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alejo Theodore in the 67th minute of play forced Union de Boulogne's goalkeeper Abelardo Umea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute, Uriel Quinto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Union de Boulogne fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
