Villa Ortúzar's Oscar Lluis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norberto Sabino in the 13th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldo Mino in the 16th minute of play forced Villa Ortúzar's goalkeeper Oscar Lluis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Villa Ortúzar's Oscar Lluis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Villa Ortúzar from getting a goal against them. Chacarita FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Norberto Sabino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oscar Lluis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 46th minute, Narciso Acosta reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Oscar Lluis. The goal made the score 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Norberto Sabino made a kick off.
