After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Cristal's zone, Filiberto Breogan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Eduardo de Lara came out of the goal and Filiberto Breogan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ulises Txatxu got free with Carlos Eduardo de Lara in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Deportivo Cristal's Carlos Eduardo de Lara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Cristal from getting a goal against them. 18 minutes into the game, Douglas Meireles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Marciano Libertad was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carlos Eduardo de Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zacarias Theodore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Carlos Bartuelo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 24th match minute, Garabato was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dionisio Bonifaco to maneuver through the defense. Marciano Libertad came out of the goal and Douglas Meireles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Garabato defense, Carlos Bartuelo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marciano Libertad. The Garabato fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marciano Libertad should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Garabato getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Dionisio Bonifaco hit a great ball. Silvano Elia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Marciano Libertad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the game, Deportivo Cristal's Carlos Bartuelo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marciano Libertad made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Carlos Bartuelo might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marciano Libertad. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Bartuelo ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Bartuelo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Carlos Bartuelo in the 53rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marciano Libertad, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Marciano Libertad stood somewhat misplaced when Carlos Bartuelo came free in front of goal and shot 0-4 to the left of him in the 54 minute. In the 58th match minute, Garabato was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulises Txatxu to maneuver through the defense. In the 62nd minute Douglas Meireles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marciano Libertad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marciano Libertad didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Cristal. In the 76th minute, Deportivo Cristal's Jonas Mikelats seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jonas Mikelats the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Deportivo Cristal protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jonas Mikelats had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 77th match minute, Deportivo Cristal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonas Mikelats to maneuver through the defense. In the 78th minute of the match Jaime Reynardo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Eduardo de Lara showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Jonas Rito fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Garabato's protests and gave Jonas Rito a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Garabato's Jonas Rito got a free kick in the 87th minute. Carlos Bartuelos short, quick shot in the 94thth minute got Marciano Libertad to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Deportivo Cristal's Carlos Bartuelo got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match was over Deportivo Cristal could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Garabato throughout the match.
