If Mario Pio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Fortin FC booed when Rosario AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erubiel Pacorro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fortin FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Maurice Van Baerlem in the 15th minute. The corner ended in Maurice Van Baerlem almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Rosario AFC's Ariel Eneto did a great save. Ariel Eneto made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Elpidio Rocendo sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice moves Elpidio Rocendo could shoot a difficult shot in the 21st minute, which Ariel Eneto however easily saved by the left post. In the 22nd minute Mario Pio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cirilo Vachon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Rocendo in the 27th minute of play forced Rosario AFC's goalkeeper Ariel Eneto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ariel Eneto made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Elpidio Rocendo sent off a good shot on target. Ariel Eneto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Platini in the 39th minute of play. If Elpidio Rocendo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rosario AFC's Jeronimo Vergaray got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jeronimo Vergaray made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Mario Pio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cirilo Vachon was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Cirilo Vachon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeronimo Vergaray, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Maurice Van Baerlem fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fortin FC's protests and gave Maurice Van Baerlem a yellow card for diving instead. Maurice Van Baerlem kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. A collision led to Fortin FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Elpidio Rocendo hit a great ball. Cirilo Vachon made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Mario Pio sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jeronimo Vergaray in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cirilo Vachon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 76th minute, Michael Platini ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ariel Eneto was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 80 minutes into the match, Rosario AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Elpidio Rocendo came free, but Ariel Eneto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Mario Pio notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Fortin FC's Cirilo Vachon. Cirilo Vachon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Fortin FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Rosario AFC to win.
