Epifanio Ruy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fulgencio Tibalt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anier Kepa in the 11th minute. Juan Vistruario hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Victorio Roland charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Victorio Roland the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 20th minute Victorio Roland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fulgencio Tibalt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the game, Emanuel Aguilera was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. River Plate.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Abbott FC the free kick. Anier Kepa's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fulgencio Tibalt firmly grabbed it by the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Epifanio Ruy in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zeledon Monte prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Anier Kepa's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, Fulgencio Tibalt skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 36th minute, Anier Kepa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Abbott FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Fulgencio Tibalt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victorio Roland, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victorio Roland was the one to do the kick off. Zeledon Monte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Epifanio Ruy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the match, River Plate.'s goal looked a bit too open when Anier Kepa came free, but Fulgencio Tibalt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Epifanio Ruy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Zeledon Monte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romeo Pierres struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Fulgencio Tibalt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Abbott FC. After a rather tough play, Abbott FC's Isidoro Euloxu got a free kick in the 78th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Abbott FC's zone, Alfredo Garoa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zeledon Monte came out of the goal and Alfredo Garoa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Epifanio Ruy might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zeledon Monte. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Epifanio Ruy ran back to his position shaking his head. Fulgencio Tibalt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anier Kepa in the 86th minute of the match. Zeledon Monte made an important save on a dangerous shot by Epifanio Ruy in the 90th minute. Abbott FC's Victorio Roland got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
