When Bernardo Hernandez came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the East Tokyo United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Hernandez couldn't finish the play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Siro Urki to make the kick off. Adan Bikendi made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Ricardo Pacheco sent off a good shot on target. If Eugenio Barrionuevo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The Pirinchulo F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aquiles Matei should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldo Quilino in the 89th minute of play forced Pirinchulo F.C's goalkeeper Aquiles Matei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aquiles Matei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardo Hernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute.
