Quijano's Reynaldo Fagondo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Quijano from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Anselmo Bazkoare managed to get in a good position for a shot. Melero's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Bazkoare was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reynaldo Fagondo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 15 minutes into the match, Diamantino Sá dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Reynaldo Fagondo, 1-0. Octavio Montay's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Reynaldo Fagondo firmly grabbed it by the left post. 23 minutes into the match, Hugo Micael had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Prudencio Romelio. Melero's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hugo Micael was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Quijano's Reynaldo Fagondo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Quijano from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Quijano's Venancio Ceandro got a free kick in the 36th minute. Reynaldo Fagondo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Bazkoare in the 37th minute of play. In the 45th match minute, Melero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernabe Erroman to maneuver through the defense. Prudencio Romelio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Henrico, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The Melero players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Quijano were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anselmo Bazkoare made a kick off. Quijano's Reynaldo Fagondo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diamantino Sá in the 52nd minute of play. 53 minutes into the match, Melero's Diamantino Sá sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reynaldo Fagondo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 60th minute, Diego Ubarna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Quijano's Hugo Micael got a free kick in the 62nd minute. 63 minutes into the match, Quijano's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Bazkoare came free, but Reynaldo Fagondo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute, Diego Ubarna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Quijano defense, Diamantino Sá kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reynaldo Fagondo. The Quijano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reynaldo Fagondo should have stopped the shot. After 73 played minutes Melero got a freekick which was hit by Cesar Claris. Hugo Micael struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Prudencio Romelio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quijano. In the 76th minute Hugo Micael shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prudencio Romelio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cesar Claris hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Christian Henrico from long distance, 84 minutes into the match, got Prudencio Romelio's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After a rather tough play, Quijano's Diego Ubarna got a free kick in the 91st minute. 95 minutes into the match, Quijano's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Bazkoare came free, but Reynaldo Fagondo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Melero players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
