After a defensive mix-up in Crosmayo's zone, Gaudencio Roldanillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Niceto Pero came out of the goal and Gaudencio Roldanillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Osvaldo Cordarell during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 32 played minutes santa fe got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldo Cordarell. If Haroldo Lugo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Narciso Toli hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. The long shot by Edgardo Sagrario in the 42nd minute really tested Niceto Pero's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Haroldo Lugo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gaudencio Roldanillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Niceto Pero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th minute Haroldo Lugo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niceto Pero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafael Mano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Serafo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Haroldo Lugo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Niceto Pero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gaudencio Roldanillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 66th minute, Hector Ofelio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Crosmayo's Oscar Perutxo got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rafael Mano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Serafo in the 71st minute of play. Crosmayo's Niceto Pero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haroldo Lugo in the 74th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haroldo Lugo in the 78th minute of play forced Crosmayo's goalkeeper Niceto Pero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 80 played minutes santa fe got a freekick which was hit by Gaudencio Roldanillo. In the 85th minute, Gaudencio Roldanillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicasio Montay could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Rafael Mano made a huge save. In the 93rd minute, santa fe's Fidel Jerrald seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Fidel Jerrald the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of santa fe protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Fidel Jerrald had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch.
