Independiente's Jesus Donio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquin Rafe in the 3rd minute of play. After 3 played minutes C.A. Armando Naelio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilian Ramalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilian Ramalho to maneuver through the defense. Independiente's Reynaldo Sidro got a free kick in the 21st minute. 23 minutes into the match, C.A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Silvio Bernad came free, but Jesus Donio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Reynaldo Sidro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. C.A. Armando Naelio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilian Ramalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armando Naelio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilian Ramalho in the 33rd minute of the match. 36 minutes into the match, C.A. But to his dismay, Delmar Rumaldo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Delmar Rumaldo put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Jesus Donio. After 45 minutes of play, IMPA FC's Nicasio Lucila made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jesus Donio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wilian Ramalho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilian Ramalho in the 54th minute of play forced IMPA FC's goalkeeper Armando Naelio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the match, IMPA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wilian Ramalho came free, but Armando Naelio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joaquin Rafe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Jesus Donio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, IMPA FC's Jesus Donio threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nicasio Lucila, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 93rd minute Silvio Bernad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesus Donio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched IMPA FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
