Teo Cordarrel started the match with the kick off. Constantino Leizarraga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anders Björklund, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Anders Björklund put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Constantino Leizarraga. If Jorge Salbatore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Constantino Leizarraga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Elixio, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After 21 played minutes Lanús FC got a freekick which was hit by Carmelo Jacindo. Luisito Tanio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Teo Cordarrel went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 29th minute Anders Björklund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Constantino Leizarraga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute, Jorge Salbatore left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lanús FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. 34 minutes into the match, Cafayate AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Anders Björklund came free, but Constantino Leizarraga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teo Cordarrel in the 37th minute of play forced Lanús FC's goalkeeper Luisito Tanio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Cafayate AFC's Cristobal Rito got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 41stth minute of the game Anders Björklund who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cafayate AFC's Constantino Leizarraga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anders Björklund in the 42nd minute of play forced Cafayate AFC's goalkeeper Constantino Leizarraga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Constantino Leizarraga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anders Björklund in the 46th minute of play. In the 48th match minute, Cafayate AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristobal Rito to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Lanús FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anders Björklund was the one to do the kick off. Constantino Leizarraga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anders Björklund in the 55th minute of play. In the 59th minute Anders Björklund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Constantino Leizarraga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jorge Salbatore was extremely unlucky when he, in the 61st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Constantino Leizarraga didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anders Björklund went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. In the 66th minute, Rolando Phelipe made a precise shot to the right of Luisito Tanio. Lanús FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. After 68 played minutes Cafayate AFC got a freekick which was hit by Casimiro Suero. The supporters of Cafayate AFC booed when Lanús FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carmelo Jacindo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lanús FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Leon Ulizes was slow to take the kick. During this time Cafayate AFC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Cafayate AFC's Anacleto Ceandro getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Cafayate AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Anders Björklund came free, but Constantino Leizarraga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Jorge Salbatore took a quick shot and it went in 2-5 without a chance for Constantino Leizarraga to make any attempt to save it. Cafayate AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 92nd minute, when Anders Björklund scored to the left of an out of position Constantino Leizarraga, making the score, 2-6. If Anders Björklund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle sounded Lanús FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Cafayate AFC.
