The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Perón AFC's Marcial Bastian got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Ubaldo Cortez took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Eugenio Polo to make any attempt to save it. Niceto Oliveiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Baraquiel having to interfere. Bruno Baraquiel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcial Bastian went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Eugenio Polo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgardo Ponce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th play minute Nereo Mark came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Eugenio Polo. 2-1. After 27 played minutes Progreso FC got a freekick which was hit by Ubaldo Cortez. After 29 played minutes Perón AFC got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Geofredo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ubaldo Cortez in the 31st minute of play forced Perón AFC's goalkeeper Eugenio Polo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 34 minutes, Fabian Ekhi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Progreso FC and the Perón AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Progreso FC's Fabian Ekhi got a free kick in the 34th minute. Ubaldo Cortez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Eugenio Polo made a huge save. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Edgardo Ponce made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Edgardo Ponce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugenio Polo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ubaldo Cortez took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eugenio Polo. Eugenio Polo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Edgardo Ponce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Progreso FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgardo Ponce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eugenio Polo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67th minute, Ubaldo Cortez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Progreso FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-2. Niceto Oliveiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcial Bastian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Perón AFC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Adrian Geofredo hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Ponce in the 77th minute of play forced Perón AFC's goalkeeper Eugenio Polo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Perón AFC's Eugenio Polo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgardo Ponce in the 82nd minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Perón AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Nereo Mark came free, but Eugenio Polo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eugenio Polo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nereo Mark in the 89th minute of the match. After 90th play minutes Marcial Bastian shot 5-3, a short shot which went by Bruno Baraquiel and just under the crossbar into goal.
