Los Pibes De Atilio's Elpidio Ferran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruben Mirande in the 31st minute of play. After 36 minutes of play, GUTIERREZ S.P.C.'s Santos Cresenciano made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elpidio Ferran was left in no man's land by his defense there! 39 minutes into the match, Cipriano Otero notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of GUTIERREZ S.P.C.'s Julio Victor. Julio Victor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gilberto Olo might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Victor. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilberto Olo ran back to his position shaking his head. Elpidio Ferran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Boris in the 47th minute of the match. Elpidio Ferran didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lucas Boris went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ernst Åström to make the kick off. Filipe Prata's late challenge caught a Los Pibes De Atilio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filipe Prata helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Los Pibes De Atilio booed when GUTIERREZ S.P.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Prata didn't get a good kick on the ball.
