Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Celso Sancho in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Isidoro Mundo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee gave Deportivo Charrúa a penalty, 7 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by German Chico, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Merlo FC's Isidoro Mundo. 1-0. When %teams%'s Celso Sancho was free in front of goal, he didn't hesitate to shoot 2-0 just inside the left pole, 14 minutes into the game. Isidoro Mundo was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. The Deportivo Charrúa fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Deportivo Charrúa's Celso Sancho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Celso Sancho put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Isidoro Mundo. Saturnino Maidana's late challenge caught a Merlo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Saturnino Maidana helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Merlo FC booed when Deportivo Charrúa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saturnino Maidana didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Celso Sancho got free with Isidoro Mundo in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vicente Domiku charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vicente Domiku the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Merlo FC's Vicente Domiku got a free kick in the 32nd minute. If Celso Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the game, Reynaldo Lando recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Isidoro Mundo. Reynaldo Lando showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-0. 44 minutes into the match, Merlo FC's goalkeeper Isidoro Mundo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aldo Gerazan. Celso Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Isidoro Mundo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arnulfo Feliz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldo Gerazan in the 52nd minute of play forced Merlo FC's goalkeeper Isidoro Mundo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th minute, Aldo Gerazan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Merlo FC's Isidoro Mundo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celso Sancho in the 56th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Merlo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Sancho came free, but Isidoro Mundo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aldo Gerazan took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Isidoro Mundo. Isidoro Mundo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reynaldo Lando in the 64th minute of play forced Merlo FC's goalkeeper Isidoro Mundo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Isidoro Mundo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso Sancho in the 65th minute of the match. Aldo Gerazan struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Isidoro Mundo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Charrúa. Celso Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isidoro Mundo having to interfere. Angelo Unax showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victorino Librado in the 76th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Merlo FC defense, Reynaldo Lando kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isidoro Mundo. The Merlo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isidoro Mundo should have stopped the shot. After 88 played minutes Deportivo Charrúa got a freekick which was hit by Dario Isauro. In the 91st minute Aldo Gerazan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidoro Mundo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, Deportivo Charrúa's goal looked a bit too open when Arnulfo Feliz came free, but Angelo Unax reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Deportivo Charrúa walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
