Rene Aznar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Nestor Cresencio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 9th match minute, Goyena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulises Gamus to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Isidoro Boni's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arturo Frantzes was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Goyena's Clodoveo Bermudez got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 23rd minute Isidoro Boni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Frantzes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rene Aznar came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Goyena's Clodoveo Bermudez. But to his dismay, Clodoveo Bermudez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Rene Aznar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aquiles Phelipe, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Rene Aznar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clodoveo Bermudez in the 37th minute of play. If Cevat Maksum had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. Arturo Frantzes was a little too slow when Isidoro Boni got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Clodoveo Bermudez was the one to do the kick off. Arturo Frantzes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Devon Simms, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clodoveo Bermudez in the 56th minute of play forced soda stereo's goalkeeper Rene Aznar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Goyena getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Humberto Buinton hit a great ball. 59 minutes into the match, Goyena's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Boni came free, but Arturo Frantzes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of soda stereo booed when Goyena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Palos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Goyena's Clodoveo Bermudez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rene Aznar. That made the score 1-3 after 78 minutes of play. Isidoro Boni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 86 minutes, Nestor Cresencio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. soda stereo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nestor Cresencio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Severiano Bazil had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arturo Frantzes. Goyena's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Severiano Bazil was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Aquiles Phelipe struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Rene Aznar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goyena. Rene Aznar was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Humberto Buinton.
