Spectators: 0 (Terracing: 0, Seating: 0, VIP seats: 0) Palmira's Dionisio Distiratsu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Palmira getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Hugo Quiroga hit a great ball. William Hutchinson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignacio Gonzales in the 22nd minute of play. Emilio Toto's late challenge caught a Palmira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emilio Toto helped the player get up and apologised. Palmira's Gaudencio Cisco was substituted for Leonardo Berasko. After 26 played minutes Atletico Tucuman got a freekick which was hit by Emilio Toto. 28 minutes into the game, Albino Bernal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atletico Tucuman's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palmira the free kick. A collision led to Atletico Tucuman getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Albino Bernal hit a great ball. Bernardino Chaime made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dionisio Distiratsu in the 29th minute. In the 31st minute, Santiago Jax hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 32 minutes, Patrick Låsberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atletico Tucuman and the Palmira players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Atletico Tucuman getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Patrick Låsberg hit a great ball. If Gaudencio Cisco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. William Hutchinson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albino Bernal in the 36th minute of play. Ignacio Gonzales took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised William Hutchinson. William Hutchinson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. William Hutchinson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergio Tancredo in the 44th minute of play. After some careless play in the Palmira defense, Emiliano Valiente kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of William Hutchinson. The Palmira fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that William Hutchinson should have stopped the shot. After the first half Atletico Tucuman were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd minute Dionisio Distiratsu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardino Chaime saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernardino Chaime showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dionisio Distiratsu, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. A collision led to Palmira getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Epifanio Beltran hit a great ball. William Hutchinson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Toto, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After 66 played minutes Palmira got a freekick which was hit by Gaudencio Cisco. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santiago Jax in the 72nd minute of play forced Atletico Tucuman's goalkeeper Bernardino Chaime to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute Isidoro Quintyn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Hutchinson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Palmira's Dionisio Distiratsu got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atletico Tucuman's goalkeeper Bernardino Chaime, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 81 minutes of play, Atletico Tucuman's Emiliano Valiente made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. William Hutchinson was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 85th minute, Atletico Tucuman's Ignacio Gonzales ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind William Hutchinson. William Hutchinson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. In the 91st minute, Erasmo Firme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 92 minutes into the match, Atletico Tucuman's Ignacio Gonzales sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that William Hutchinson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Atletico Tucuman played a much better game than Palmira and deserved their victory. The Palmira players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
