Dionisio Kauldi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simon Omero, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Jacobo Raitin hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Simon Omero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Dionisio Kauldi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Palermo FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Cesar Dodorol showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Through an outstanding action, after 35 minutes, Celso Furtado successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 37th minute, José França got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Celso Furtado made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Marco Mikelats sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 70th minute Melchor Harri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Teofilo Dubardo could shoot a difficult shot in the 71st minute, which Dionisio Kauldi however easily saved by the left post. Cesar Dodorol took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Celso Furtado. Celso Furtado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After some careless play in the Palermo FC defense, José França kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dionisio Kauldi. The Palermo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dionisio Kauldi should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Manchester United booed when Palermo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Honorato Cayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute Cesar Dodorol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dionisio Kauldi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teofilo Dubardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Celso Furtado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cesar Dodorol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manchester United were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
