The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute, Lisandro Monico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 8 minutes into the game, Apeleg's Leonides Madaleno nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Angel Otoniel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Nueva chicago's Angel Otoniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingo Senin in the 14th minute of play. Thomás Marinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Serafino Gaskon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute Domingo Senin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angel Otoniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Nueva chicago's Augusto Bruno got a free kick in the 17th minute. Apeleg's defense didn't have a chance, in the 23rd minute, when Inocencio Chus scored to the left of an out of position Serafino Gaskon, making the score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inocencio Chus in the 26th minute of play forced Apeleg's goalkeeper Serafino Gaskon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Angel Otoniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonides Madaleno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 30 minutes of play, Apeleg's Domingo Senin made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Angel Otoniel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Inocencio Chus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Serafino Gaskon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Nueva chicago's goal looked a bit too open when Leonides Madaleno came free, but Angel Otoniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Apeleg booed when Nueva chicago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgilio Illart didn't get a good kick on the ball. Angel Otoniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingo Senin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute, Apeleg's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Thomás Marinho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Inocencio Chus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Domingo Senin made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Nueva chicago's goal looked a bit too open when Aldo Fonda came free, but Angel Otoniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Serafino Gaskon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomás Marinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 65 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Nueva chicago! Angel Otoniel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aldo Fonda went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Nueva chicago's Angel Otoniel got control of the ball when Bartolo Mirande tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leonides Madaleno struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Angel Otoniel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Apeleg. With 79 minutes on the clock, Augusto Bruno commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The supporters of Apeleg booed when Nueva chicago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Bruno didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Apeleg's Domingo Senin got a free kick in the 93rd minute. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Apeleg's goalkeeper Serafino Gaskon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aldo Fonda charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aldo Fonda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 96 played minutes Apeleg got a freekick which was hit by Aldo Fonda. The Nueva chicago supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Apeleg's performance. The match ended with a win for Apeleg.
