Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ubaldo Avellaneda in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ruperto Crispo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ruperto Crispo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelino Abascal in the 38th minute of the match. Ruperto Crispo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelino Abascal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes into the game, Chievo FC's Ubaldo Avellaneda nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ruperto Crispo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

After 54 played minutes Marcelino Abascal rounded Barreal's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-2. Marcelino Abascal might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ruperto Crispo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcelino Abascal ran back to his position shaking his head. If Ubaldo Avellaneda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 69 minutes into the game, Venancio Olentzaro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barreal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chievo FC the free kick. The Barreal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ruperto Crispo should have stopped the shot. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Ubaldo Avellaneda got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Marcelino Abascal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ruperto Crispo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelino Abascal in the 89th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, Marcelino Abascal fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ruperto Crispo, passed just outside the right post. The Barreal supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Chievo FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Chievo FC.
