Mauricio Orlandus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jairo Belmiro having to interfere. A hard shot by Ceferino Olando from long distance, 35 minutes into the match, got Jairo Belmiro's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 37th minute Aquilino Sasoin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Belmiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aquilino Sasoin in the 40th minute of play forced Thsabalala Mas Diez's goalkeeper Jairo Belmiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a left leg Domingos Rozarius saved Gimnasia de La Plata from getting behind. Mauricio Orlandus kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aquilino Sasoin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Domingos Rozarius made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Victor Lekubegi sent off a good shot on target. Eustaquio Brion sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aquilino Sasoin struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. In the 70th minute, Eustaquio Brion hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Gimnasia de La Plata's Aquilino Sasoin in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Thsabalala Mas Diez's goalie prevented a goal. Ceferino Olando made in the 74th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Mauricio Orlandus however managed to control. In the 96th minute, Julio Abarca ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Domingos Rozarius was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Thsabalala Mas Diez had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
