The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Arsenio Obeko hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Nicasio Paul's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Albano Efraim was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Albano Efraim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Froilan Reno in the 14th minute of the match. Americo Dantae received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Arnulfo Kinsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Benjamin Inocente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Enrique Fidencio kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Higinio Henrico managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newells's supporters rose to their feet, but Higinio Henrico was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albano Efraim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arnulfo Kinsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benjamin Inocente, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Nicasio Paul could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Albano Efraim made a huge save. In the 38th minute, Benjamin Inocente hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Alfredo Cordaro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnulfo Kinsen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Albano Efraim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Froilan Reno in the 54th minute of play. Albano Efraim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicasio Paul, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicasio Paul in the 78th minute of play forced Chicho FC's goalkeeper Albano Efraim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the game, Newells's Nicasio Paul nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Albano Efraim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Albano Efraim came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Newells's Nicasio Paul. But to his dismay, Nicasio Paul quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Froilan Reno scored 3-0 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Albano Efraim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
