In the 2nd minute, Delmiro Giraldo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laureano Ipar in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thodoris Bezos saved Villavicencio from getting behind. Thodoris Bezos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anastasio Baldovino, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Academic F.C's Anastasio Baldovino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thodoris Bezos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thodoris Bezos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laureano Ipar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Süleyman Urkan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Alonzo Lalla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Alonzo Formerio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thodoris Bezos. Villavicencio's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alonzo Formerio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Thodoris Bezos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laureano Ipar, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Laureano Ipar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thodoris Bezos having to interfere. Alonzo Lalla made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Delmiro Giraldo sent off a good shot on target. If Anastasio Baldovino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Academic F.C booed when Villavicencio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Delmiro Giraldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernando Mark hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute, Valter Lundgren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alonzo Lalla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Delmiro Giraldo in the 36th minute of play. If Anastasio Baldovino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 42 played minutes Villavicencio got a freekick which was hit by Delmiro Giraldo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laureano Ipar in the 44th minute of play forced Villavicencio's goalkeeper Thodoris Bezos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Süleyman Urkan was the one to do the kick off. Villavicencio's Valter Lundgren got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thodoris Bezos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Laureano Ipar showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 54 minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Valter Lundgren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alonzo Lalla was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Academic F.C's Alonzo Lalla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Süleyman Urkan in the 67th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Academic F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Delmiro Giraldo came free, but Alonzo Lalla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74th minute, Süleyman Urkan made a precise shot to the right of Alonzo Lalla. Academic F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Thodoris Bezos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anastasio Baldovino, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Anastasio Baldovino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Academic F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Anastasio Baldovino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thodoris Bezos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 93 minutes into the match, Villavicencio's goalkeeper Thodoris Bezos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laureano Ipar. Thodoris Bezos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anastasio Baldovino in the 95th minute of play.
