The Deportivo Dema fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when Deportivo Dema's Efe Neval looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Fabio Astudillo hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. When Academic F.C's Laureano Ipar in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With his leg Alonzo Lalla managed to avoid a goal in the 26thth minute, when Deportivo Dema's Efe Neval fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Alonzo Lalla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Efe Neval's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. After 51 played minutes Academic F.C got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Tanio. After 53 minutes Academic F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Efe Neval who took care of the corner kick. Deportivo Dema's Fermin Burutzagi was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Alonzo Lalla in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Dema's zone, Laureano Ipar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celso Cristofor came out of the goal and Laureano Ipar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Academic F.C's Alonzo Lalla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Efe Neval in the 64th minute of play.
