Alejo Jurgi struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Cesar Argider didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cañas F.C. Alejo Jurgi took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cesar Argider. Cesar Argider dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 30th minute Bartolo Jeraldo suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Jimeno Sidro was shown his second yellow card after 30 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 32nd minute Alejo Jurgi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesar Argider saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lino Figueroa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cesar Argider having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Voluntad AFC's zone, Lino Figueroa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cesar Argider came out of the goal and Lino Figueroa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Andres Ikatz fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cañas F.C's protests and gave Andres Ikatz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th match minute, Cañas F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andres Ikatz to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 39 minutes, Tiburcio Medina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Voluntad AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tiburcio Medina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Lino Figueroa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lino Figueroa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lino Figueroa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lino Figueroa might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cesar Argider. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lino Figueroa ran back to his position shaking his head. If Alejo Jurgi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Voluntad AFC's goalkeeper Cesar Argider, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 76thth minute of the game Lino Figueroa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Voluntad AFC's Cesar Argider was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Cañas F.C booed when Voluntad AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateo Barea didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Lino Figueroa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cesar Argider was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. Voluntad AFC's Mateo Barea got his second yellow card of the match in the 82nd minute. The referee ordered Mateo Barea off the ground.
