River Plate's Franco Diaz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save C. A. River Plate from getting a goal against them. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vladimiro Paul to make the kick off. Franco Diaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from German Hartz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes into the match, C. A. River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when German Hartz came free, but Franco Diaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Intratables had played much better football throughout.
