The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Leo Abilio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aureliano Laurgain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Abilio, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. In the 10th match minute, Nautico Santo Tomé was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cipriano Azubeli to maneuver through the defense. Silvestre Quentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Atletico Madrid's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Narciso Javiar 20 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. The supporters of Atletico Madrid booed when Nautico Santo Tomé was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roque Ignado didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th match minute, Nautico Santo Tomé was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruben Beturian to maneuver through the defense. Aureliano Laurgain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvestre Quentin in the 41st minute of play. Leo Abilio took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aureliano Laurgain. Aureliano Laurgain dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After having played for 46 minutes, Silvestre Quentin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atletico Madrid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvestre Quentin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Leo Abilio made the kick off in the second half. Ruben Beturian kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Leo Jerano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso Javiar in the 53rd minute of play. Leo Abilio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 61st minute Silvestre Quentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aureliano Laurgain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nautico Santo Tomé's Rodrigo Lain got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paolo Gauargi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aureliano Laurgain having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvestre Quentin in the 67th minute of play forced Nautico Santo Tomé's goalkeeper Aureliano Laurgain to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute, Ruben Beturian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atletico Madrid's Leo Abilio got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 73 minutes into the match, Nautico Santo Tomé's goalkeeper Aureliano Laurgain had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paolo Gauargi. In the 74th minute, Atletico Madrid's Leo Abilio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Leo Abilio in the 78thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Aureliano Laurgain, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Paolo Gauargi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Aureliano Laurgain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Leo Abilio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silvestre Quentin might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aureliano Laurgain. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Silvestre Quentin ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 89th minute Silvestre Quentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aureliano Laurgain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aureliano Laurgain made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leo Abilio in the 91st minute. When the final whistle sounded Atletico Madrid left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Nautico Santo Tomé.
