But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lino Betadur couldn't finish the play. Lino Betadur might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leandro Quintyn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lino Betadur ran back to his position shaking his head. After 25 played minutes Sum 41 got a freekick which was hit by Adriana Aztore. In the 27th match minute, Sum 41 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriana Aztore to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Angel Naike was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elpidio Romildo got free with Leandro Quintyn in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Elpidio Urre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Gamus in the 55th minute of the match. A collision led to Sum 41 getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Elpidio Romildo hit a great ball. In the 66th minute Angel Naike shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Urre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Sum 41's goal looked a bit too open when Magno Neiva came free, but Elpidio Urre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Scuadra Sabalera's goalkeeper Leandro Quintyn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elpidio Romildo. If Elpidio Romildo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Sum 41 booed when Scuadra Sabalera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Octavio Phelipe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rigoberto Ekaitz placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Alexi Panicharov kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Scuadra Sabalera's Leandro Quintyn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elpidio Romildo in the 91st minute of play. After having played for 92 minutes, Elpidio Romildo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sum 41's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elpidio Romildo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
