In the 40th match minute, Quimilí was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marty Farrow to maneuver through the defense. Apolo Telmo hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the match, Quimilí's goal looked a bit too open when Erasmo Hibai came free, but Delmiro Alonso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aristides Feliu to make the kick off. Aristides Feliu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zeledon Peli having to make a save. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 59th minute of the game. One of Quimilí:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of El franco fc:s goal. The goalkeeper, Delmiro Alonso, was totally fooled by El franco fc's Abelardo Erlantz, who 61 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 66th minute Gervasio Frantzes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeledon Peli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Domingo Ubendu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Quimilí's Elói Mendonça was substituted for Gervasio Frantzes. When Elói Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Quimilí fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elói Mendonça couldn't finish the play. Faustino Tauro hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Filiberto Gorosti succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 4-2 in the 75th playminute. Marty Farrow kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Zeledon Peli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elói Mendonça in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th minute of the match Quimilí got a corner. El franco fc's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Börje Alebom ran over to the corner to take the kick. Quimilí's Börje Alebom was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Zeledon Peli in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Elói Mendonça struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Zeledon Peli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quimilí. Quimilí's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
