Honorio Pelayo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Alvaro Cuarto made a huge save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

A collision led to Sampacho getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Marcelino Otsando hit a great ball. Honorio Pelayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Cuarto having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Tomas Acevedo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sampacho fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The audience was convinced that Krister Holmstedt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alvaro Cuarto was relentless in the 66th minute of the game.
