The supporters of Los chirusas booed when Portezuelo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Txanton didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Fulgencio Guillelmus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The coaching staff of Portezuelo protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Javier Eudoxio had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Carolo Rainerio guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Carolo Rainerio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolo Marques in the 42nd minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 53rd minute of the match Portezuelo got a corner. Los chirusas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag.
