After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Arnulfo Eleazar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atletico de Rafaela's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnulfo Eleazar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeledon Peter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Ricardo Quintun fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Concepción's protests and gave Ricardo Quintun a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th minute, Ricardo Quintun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zeledon Peter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnulfo Eleazar in the 29th minute of play. Arnulfo Eleazar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeledon Peter having to interfere. Efrain Rolado struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Mauricio Criston didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Concepción. Mauricio Criston took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ismael Ascencio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Arturo Brion fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Concepción's protests and gave Arturo Brion a yellow card for diving instead. After recieving a nice pass, Atletico de Rafaela's Martin Ekain tried to score from far away in the 42nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Erubiel Truylos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 44thth minute, Zeledon Peter skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Zeledon Peter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnulfo Eleazar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ismael Ascencio made a kick off. The supporters of Concepción booed when Atletico de Rafaela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cipriano Porfiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 52 minutes into the game, Romeo Mede cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Mauricio Criston was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zeledon Peter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fábio Arruda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Concepción getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Romeo Mede hit a great ball. Zeledon Peter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erubiel Truylos in the 62nd minute of play. If Erubiel Truylos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ismael Ascencio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Mauricio Criston tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Domingues in the 78th minute of play forced Concepción's goalkeeper Zeledon Peter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 81 minutes of play, Atletico de Rafaela's Julio Domingues made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zeledon Peter was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Luiz Fábio Arruda fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atletico de Rafaela's protests and gave Luiz Fábio Arruda a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Atletico de Rafaela getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Luiz Fábio Arruda hit a great ball. Romeo Mede in the 92ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mauricio Criston, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Although Atletico de Rafaela had been in control for most of the match, Concepción still came away with the win.
