Victorino Bordat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15thth minute of the game Ulises Piearres who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Benavides's Victorino Bordat was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Benavides getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Alejo Felipo hit a great ball. In the 19th match minute, Benavides was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucas Abar to maneuver through the defense. Ulises Piearres struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Victorino Bordat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Barcelona. 23 minutes into the game, Benavides's Alejo Felipo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Remus Gheorghe made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. FC Barcelona's Remus Gheorghe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Abar in the 29th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Lucas Abar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Remus Gheorghe was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Ulises Piearres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victorino Bordat having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Americo Nesor in the 42nd minute of play forced FC Barcelona's goalkeeper Remus Gheorghe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Benavides's goalkeeper Victorino Bordat had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cesar Jacob. Victorino Bordat didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ulises Piearres went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dionisio Silvanito was the one to do the kick off. Hugo Nel's late challenge caught a FC Barcelona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 64th minute, one of FC Barcelona:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Barcelona. Victorio Pancho placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Remus Gheorghe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dionisio Silvanito in the 71st minute of play. When FC Barcelona's Ulises Piearres in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Benavides's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ulises Piearres in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Victorino Bordat prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Aurelio Bastiaro fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Barcelona's protests and gave Aurelio Bastiaro a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC Barcelona getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Aurelio Bastiaro hit a great ball. Remus Gheorghe made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Alejo Felipo sent off a good shot on target. In the 86th minute Lucas Abar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remus Gheorghe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Barcelona's Remus Gheorghe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dionisio Silvanito in the 95th minute of play. The FC Barcelona supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Benavides's performance. The match ended with a win for Benavides.
