Placido Estevon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celedonio Rey having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Quilmes A.C lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
