Humberto Santxol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pablo Tallia having to interfere. The supporters of Club Atletico River Plate booed when Los Piojosos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ubaldo Roano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pablo Tallia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angel Etxepare, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Humberto Santxol who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Pablo Tallia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 24 minutes into the game, Humberto Santxol cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Pablo Tallia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 29th minute Severo Balasi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Tallia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pablo Tallia made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Humberto Santxol sent off a good shot on target. Cesar Kaxen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dalmacio Koldo in the 31st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Teodosio Txartiko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atletico River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Teodosio Txartiko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cesar Kaxen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cesar Kaxen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimeno Monico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 37 played minutes Los Piojosos got a freekick which was hit by Olavo Hames. A collision led to Club Atletico River Plate getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Benjamin Derwin hit a great ball. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 40th minute, when Los Piojosos's Santos Cuarto after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Pablo Tallia in Club Atletico River Plate's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. In the 44th minute, Severo Balasi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pablo Tallia. The goal made the score 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Angel Etxepare made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Santxol in the 58th minute of play forced Club Atletico River Plate's goalkeeper Pablo Tallia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 60 minutes into the game, Angel Etxepare cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Pablo Tallia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Los Piojosos booed when Club Atletico River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonas Elija didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dalmacio Koldo's late challenge caught a Los Piojosos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dalmacio Koldo helped the player get up and apologised. After 65 played minutes Club Atletico River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Dalmacio Koldo. Humberto Santxol took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pablo Tallia. Pablo Tallia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atletico River Plate's zone, Humberto Santxol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pablo Tallia came out of the goal and Humberto Santxol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Los Piojosos's Segundo Cugat was substituted for Magno Luz. Dalmacio Koldo was shown his second yellow card after 74 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Club Atletico River Plate getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Dalmacio Koldo hit a great ball. Pablo Tallia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angel Etxepare, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Atletico River Plate's Teodosio Txartiko got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Los Piojosos made a substitution. Gustavo Amato replaced Baransel Demirtekin. The referee felt a red card was in order, 87 minutes into the game, when Benjamin Derwin put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 87th minute of the game. One of Club Atletico River Plate:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Los Piojosos:s goal. Pablo Tallia had in the 89thth minute some difficulties stopping Santos Cuarto's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Teobaldo Jenaro kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Balasi in the 92nd minute of play forced Club Atletico River Plate's goalkeeper Pablo Tallia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pablo Tallia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angel Etxepare in the 95th minute of the match. Los Piojosos were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Club Atletico River Plate for a fine match.
