Justin Scott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the game, Baldomiro Restu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Onur Erseç was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. André Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Onur Erseç took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baldomiro Restu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Baldomiro Restu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Onur Erseç was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Villalonga AFC reached it. In the 47th minute Leo Tiadoro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Onur Erseç saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dante Arotza made a kick off. Baldomiro Restu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Onur Erseç having to interfere. With 56 minutes on the clock, Mauro Arnas commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 56th minute, one of Villalonga AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Villalonga AFC. Roque Odilon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justin Scott having to interfere. If Baldomiro Restu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Roque Odilon made a precise shot to the right of Justin Scott. Villalonga AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. André Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Justin Scott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Villalonga AFC's Justin Scott played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tom Lamberts in the 87th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Baldomiro Restu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Onur Erseç. RIVER PLATE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Baldomiro Restu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The supporters of RIVER PLATE booed when Villalonga AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Ascencio didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Roque Odilon came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the RIVER PLATE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roque Odilon couldn't finish the play. The RIVER PLATE manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Villalonga AFC to win.
