When Geronimo Mendebal came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Panaholma fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geronimo Mendebal couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Paraná FC's Santos Quinito got a free kick in the 10th minute. Manuel Lapurdis short, quick shot in the 11thth minute got Luisito Acevedo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paraná FC's goalkeeper Luisito Acevedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The long shot by Pablo Jaizki in the 16th minute really tested Luisito Acevedo's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 19 minutes into the match, Geronimo Mendebal notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Paraná FC's Luisito Acevedo. Luisito Acevedo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 24 minutes, Geronimo Mendebal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panaholma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geronimo Mendebal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ezequiel Betadur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silverio Ted, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ezequiel Betadur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silverio Ted, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Panaholma's Ezequiel Betadur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silverio Ted in the 31st minute of play. If Isidoro Gonchan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 47 minutes into the match, Panaholma's Geronimo Mendebal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luisito Acevedo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silverio Ted made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Panaholma's Manuel Lapurdi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luisito Acevedo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Luisito Acevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geronimo Mendebal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luisito Acevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Lapurdi in the 60th minute of play. Ezequiel Betadur made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Fernando Sergi sent off a good shot on target. Santos Quinito got his second yellow card in the match during the 66th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 72nd minute of the game. One of Paraná FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Panaholma:s goal. After a defensive mix-up in Paraná FC's zone, Geronimo Mendebal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luisito Acevedo came out of the goal and Geronimo Mendebal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Geronimo Mendebal came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Panaholma fans jumped to their feet. The supporters of Panaholma booed when Paraná FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silverio Ted didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luisito Acevedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Geronimo Mendebal's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Geronimo Mendebal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisito Acevedo having to interfere. In the 95th minute Manuel Lapurdi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisito Acevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Geronimo Mendebal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panaholma's supporters rose to their feet, but Geronimo Mendebal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luisito Acevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Geronimo Mendebal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisito Acevedo having to interfere.
